I found this unusual recipe by David Lebovitz for Pickled Turnips in my email box today. It looks interesting & easy.

Might try this when I get around to uprooting a ginormous turnip as I am sure that I won't use it all otherwise
Thanks ladies.

Hattie, this guy is so enthusiastic, you can't help but want to try his recipes - and I wouldn't mind trying this one either.
Fab!
Thanks for that.

Hi Val,
David Liebovitz is one of my all time favorite bloggers, have you tried any of his ice-cream/sorbet recipes.......if not, you should.

Got around to digging up the turnip and we are on the second portion taken out of it. I roasted it tonight with beetroot, carrots, onions and squash. Last night it went in a tomato mixture with carrots (can you tell we did well with carrots?), onion and some beetroot (yup not a bad crop of that either) and some lamb mince patties. Maybe I shall stir fry it tomorrow to go with the quiche that I made tonight.
