Make your own preserving funnel

How about those things they put around dogs heads??? No maybe not.

I could certainly do with preserving funnel spilt aloud of stew which I was bottling the other day. Which brings me on to this question is there anything wrong with the latter? I just bottled 5 lots of Beef Bourguignon in used pop up lid jars but I left about half an inch of space? Tried once with a small amount of stew and then tried it a month latter. Definetatly tasted better than the froozen stuff from the same batch. Note pubs are worth a look in for jars as some of the fruit drinks come in bottles with pop lids. IE Britvic 250ml bottles tall and thinish good for smaller amounts.
