Top marks to Aldi.
I never expected to have consistently had the best steaks at budget prices from Aldi. They opened a new store in Dec in Bramley, about 20 mins walk from me here in Leeds.
The steaks are matured for 21 days before being vac packed. 8 oz sirloins for abut £4.80 and 6 oz fillets for £5.30.
Probably the Aberdeen Angus from Waitrose has more flavour (at a price!) but the five I had from Aldi, both sirloin and fillet, have been perfectly tender and flavoursome.
Never knowingly underfed
I think Aldi is consistently good at almost everything they do. I could wish that they sold smaller packs of vegetables and fruit but the price is good. I also use their washing detergent/softener. The wines likewise.
I don't generally buy meat so can't give an opinion but they do a frozen fish dish that I have bought a few times, stuffed Lemon Sole (I think).
I'll try that again!
Last year I bought some frying steak from Lidl and I was impressed by the quality. I'm rubbish at frying steak and usually end up over-cooking it but this came out well and was still tender and cooked just about right. It sounds like both Lidl and Aldi are doing something right...

Lidl here is different! Some thjngs are good but most isn't!
