I dislike turkey too, Steve. Always have. Might be goose but that is expensive (£50 to £60 approx) for just the two of us - me and my housemate Ben. So I think it will be duck. Assuming I don't get invited somewhere for the day.
For years I dreamed of a big joint of beef for Christmas Day but we have had that twice in the past three weeks and the novelty has worn off. Probably monkfish for Boxing Day. As always, I will have a ham joint on the sideboard throughout the season and will cut a slice every time I pass by!
My treats will be a crate of good reds, a bottle of Hine Antique cognac and/or Janneau armagnac and plenty of tins of sweets and biscuits. And Rennies
