In the same vein, I stumbled across Jane Mitchell's site today. She had lost her password and emailed us. Otherwise I might never have found her stuff. Really appealing, to me at least.

Has anyone made home-made paper? I have the mould and deckle, and have attempted this in the past, and now someone has given me some silk noil, in particular to make some special paper.
Trouble is, I haven't a clue how to , anyone any suggestions?
I had couple of goes with a kit I picked up at a car boot. I was quite good at making textured cardboard I found out. That was ok for what I was doing at the time, a sort of collage with textured paper, paint, bits of copper, just messing about having fun. I can't help you with making proper paper I'm afraid. Tried google?

If you want paper to write on I think you need chalk, I have only ever made paper for craft projects but not for writing on. It is simple though but you need lots of water and really it is best done outside so you can tip the excess water on the soil as it clogs the drains. Fortunately no firsthand experience on the last bit.
