Hi there, my name is Maggie and I live in Corfu. I am originally from Fife in Scotland.
I came across this site tonight while looking online for a recipe for homemade mincemeat! I thought I might surprise my hubby and make hime some pies for Christmas as these are the kind of things that you can miss here.
We live in a small village which is only inhabited by ourselves and we make olive oil from our trees , wine from our grapes etc. We have about 17 hens and 4 cockerels and are hoping to get a few goats soon. We have 2 dogs of our own and also feed the village dogs and cats as no one else is here full time. We also have our first hive of bees and are looking forward to our first batch of honey next year.
Whenever I have some spare time I enjoy making jams and marmalade etc which we sometimes sell in the winter along with wine, oil ,eggs and anything else we've managed to make or grow.
Is there anyone else out there from this neck of the woods?
If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!
Hi Maggie and a warm welcome to the Forum. I think I am the Scottish contingent. As you can see I live in Argyll and have done for 13 years, but the rest of my long life was spent in Fife. I was brought up in Crossford, lived in Dunfermline and Cairneyhill and latterly in Glenrothes. What part of Fife are you from? However, I do have to say I do love living in Argyll.
Sound like you enjoy your life in Greece.

Welcome, like a lot of others I ended up here looking for advice and it has showered down ever since. Have fun and stick around, oh and I agree with Moo, we men are heavily outnumbered but what we lack in numbers we make up for in qual---, but no I don't think that is true either. I am going before my membership is cancelled by head office!! Have fun.
I have reached an age where my train of thought often leaves the station without me...

Head Office says she has rubber stamped your tenancy, Chris.
Love the cool pic BTW
A very warm welcome from me too, Maggie. I don't think we have anybody else on here from your neck of the woods. Closest is probably Bulgaria (loud but very lovable! )
How long have you been on Corfu and how come you guys ended up there in the first place?
I think you may have many envious glances from quite a few of us.
Never knowingly underfed
Hello and welcome Kiriacota. I'm a fairly newbie, but was quick enough to realise how nice and helpful the members on this forum are, they are all lovely.
I have lived in France with husband for 2.5 years and love it. I'm from the West Coast of Scotland, Gourock (just outside Greenock) and the last 20 years Wemyss Bay. Enjoy
