Hope this helps for now ATB Jono

That is helpful as we have quite a lot of willows. Some are just plain in the way so have been dug up but there are still lots of them and I had thought of coppicing them. How far apart should coppice stands be? I look forward to reading your paper on willows that will be really helpful, have you got some pictures and distinguishing features for the willows? I am really not sure how many varieties of willow we have on our land, I know the goat willow and I think I can now identify the white willow but not entirely sure yet, the rest are anyone's guess. Maybe I should just take photos of each sort that I come across to see which are which.cheers
