Hi all, thanks for the lovely welcome. A very friendly place indeed.
I'm a primary teacher so don't usually have a lot of time for other things. However, I enjoy cooking, finding recipes, etc. I do a lot of school stuff online or on screen (making resources, etc), have got interested in digital photography recently (not terribly good at it though) and I have a blog which I write up at least once a day usually. That's how I found this place, by following some links from another blog.
And I really like making foody and other home made presents for people. When I retire, I will have a lot more time for it all and want to get mich more expert with crafts like pillow lace, tatting, card making, etc, as well as finding recipes that will work as gifts.
Mind you, I also want to do some private SEN tuition if I can and continue at my school giving recorder lessons. I'll probably be more busy then than I am now.
My Gran taught me to tat many moons ago and I still have the shuttles and cottons, just not had the inclination in a long while. I also used to make all my own Christmas cards and have not made any this year at all, I really am slacking in the crafty line of things. I do have a project in mind though, due to a mistake - don't ask too long a story- someone made a frame that looks like an arched window so I am going to use it to make an embroidery that looks like a Derbyshire scene to remind me of my 15 years in the Derbyshire countryside. I have one month to make it in before my studies start again, then I will have no time until possibly next Christmas as my summer might be spent in the garden and working on a piece of land nearby.
Agree - we would love to see some samples of Joanna's threadcraft (where does she get the time? LOL )
Also, we are very happy to promote crafts on here, like by linking to good sites / members' craft stores using simple links. I think we will open a new page for "Recommended suppliers" with a brief description and link. We admire enterprise. Period.
Never knowingly underfed
I have just edited my flikr pictures for the embroidery exhibition that I held in Fort Collins, Colorado so that anyone can see it now

I will upload some more pictures and post the links later - I have accounts to do first
Uploaded three more pictures of embroideries I completed last year. Not been doing too many just lately because of studying http://www.flickr.com/photos/24585238@N00/42375331.....996575719/
Thank you Toffeeapple. I was wondering if the links worked but I found I had to log out and log back in again to get them to work for me.
