I've had this website in my favourites since September last year when I googled 'Sloe Gin Recipies' (seems I'm not the only one!)
I live in North Yorkshire, not far from the White Horse, Sutton Bank area. I live with my man (not married but working on it), we have a beautiful son who has just turned 18months and a cat with a ridiculous huge fluffy tail.
Lovely man is an agricultural contractor and cuts some of the best hedges around here. I am 'Mum' and work for a local farming business who buy & sell farm machinery (admin girl!)
My main reason for joining is to gain ideas and meet new like-minded folk, who are so tired of slaving to the supermarkets. Sadly we don't have any land as such to grow our own, but one day we'd like to. In the meantime I'm very interested in all things foodie!
Ahh yes, good point, that would be Norfolk, England. Sorry.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in the farmhouse that my Dad grew up in (little village in North-West Norfolk). Then went off to Uni and ended up doing my post-doc in Los Angeles. Fell out of love with Academia but fell in love with the weather (Currently lovely, sunny 20C, but has been 'orrible Jan & Feb so far).
It appears that numerous folk have found out about Fiona & Danny's website through recipe hunting. I discovered it by googling for a 'Le Saucier' gizmo and have been lurking for a couple of months now.
Like Sarah-J I don't have land, I live in a first floor flat but can dream of having a veggie garden again. I'm living vicariously through all of you *le sigh* Alas no cat though, unlike Sarah-J
The avatar is my standard photo pose!
Life is uncertain ………… eat dessert first!
Great to have you guys on board, Sarah-J and Suz. Thank you so much for your potted bios. I love to read those.
Ahh, Sarah, Sloe Gin is the downfall of many an upright pillar of the community (just ask TA ). Welcome to the club.
And, Suz, I loved my brief time in LA. I will never forget staying in the house of some friends and reaching out through the window in the morning to touch the lemons on the tree that grew in the garden. Or spending a few nights beneath the Hollywood sign in the home of a friend who made a fortune from the Earthworm Jim cartoon series back then when. or . or ,. or . . many good memories of LA and SF.
Never knowingly underfed
