I make simple ones for hosts of dinner parties etc as impossible to find here. My eldest daughter does beautiful ones. Not really my thing but I do have a box of bits for when needed.

I don't think any of us make cards...
I think I remember Val (Brightspark) mentioning that she made fabric collage cards for her friends birthdays etc. I used to make my own Christmas cards to send every year but I have never sold them, all my fellow designers used to do the same.

I make Cards of all sorts to raise funds to feed feral Cats, and other animal charities. Does anyone else?
I used to love card making and yes I would sell them or donate them to local charities that are close to my heart, such as 'the P.D.S.A.' the 'Butterwick Foundation', as I too love animals and they really do require help to provide pets with medical problems. The Butterwick Foundation is a great, worthy cause, they receive no funding, yet provide respite care for terminally ill patients. They have a wonderful place for adults and children, it's a place for living and not at all morbid as perhaps is expected until you've had dealings with them, the facilities they provide are outstanding and are worthy of every possible donation, as they so deserve it.
However, due to my own medical problems with tumours, my hands no longer work as they should, therefore any intricate work such as card-making are impossible for me now. I do still like to visit and help by purchasing gifts and beautifully hand crafted goods that are on sale in the centre itself.
I only wish that I could knit and make cards as I used to do most days, I do miss it. I'm 'still here though' against all the odds, so feel blessed by that each and every day. When you're life has been 'touched by cancer', with an uncertain future it's one of those things and I believe that I have been given many second chances in life so do try to make the most of what time II may have left to do the best that I can for as long as possible. I don't intend going away any-time soon they don't get rid of me that easily, I'm far too awkward and stubborn for that!
I'm delighted to hear about the good work that you do, it is so rewarding in life, as you will know.
Kindest regarts,
Odelle
I don,t wan,t to be a Goody Two Shoes, but I also support a little girl in China, and a Dog , with The Dog,s Trust. Every Xmas I do all I can to raise extra funds for them. There is something called a Gift Fund , with Action Aid, which is outwith the usual payments, it provides things like Drawing Books Water Bottles, and extra small treats for the children. I had a letter from Shuang, yesterday, she is eleven, and the second child I have sponsored. She Boards at the School, as her parents work away. She lives in a very mountainous part of China, so I pay for her Schooling, she is a bright child and loves to draw, the picture she sent me yesterday was of her little Dog, and the Apple Tree in front of her House. I feel privileged to do what I do for her. I am lucky to have a group of people who always buy from me, they like to help animals too.

You are right, Hattie - I really enjoy doing the fabric ones, sewing on little pearls or sparkly buttons, lace, etc.
They usually take a couple of days to do, too ! So, inevitably they are not usually Christmassy, but birthday or special cards (just to make someone feel better when going through a rough time, say).
Well remembered!
I bet they are lovely, too. x I make my Cards using, flowers , sparkly stick ons, they are more like confections, as one lady put it. I love orders for Fairy Cards, am mad on Fairies, always have been. I hate doing cards for men, especially Football ones. I have just made four Wedding cards, and two Golden Weddings. I also like to use as well as Decoupage , a little bit decorative paper work, can,t think of the name of it, making leaves and Scrolls etc. I have arthritis in every part of my body, hands as well, so this is one way Ican still be creative.
I took two orders today one for a fancy Wedding card, I have several Cross-stitch bits I saved from when I could do that, but my fingers are so bent with Arthritas can,t do it now, I really miss it. Using the cross stitch, which is a square, on each side it has "to have and to hold" am pleased with it, turned out really well, the other card was for a lady who loves Fairies, well, so do I , so suits me fine
Odelle, I have had a look at the Butterwick Foundation - as I hadn't heard of them before. They seem to be a Northern hospice - is that right?
We have a children's hospice not far from us, too, and being part of the Rotarian fellowship (OH is a Rotarian), we support that hospice, and fundraise, etc.
I have pressed many flowers and grasses etc and have used those in the past to create cards - lol - I even won 1st prize in an Art competition for a picture created totally out of pressed flowers! Very unexpected!
