As long as Danny and Fiona don't mind me running this little venture here ...
Following on from the Easter card thread where I seem to have hijacked it I shall use this new topic to announce and solicit takers for my packs of home smoked and roasted garlic heads.
Each pack will contain three smoked and roasted garlic heads and will be vacuum packed.
I will announce when I plan to smoked, or have smoked, a batch and the cost per pack. Each batch will probably be fifteen heads of garlic. Therefore I will ask on a first come first served basis for, however many packs (5) I have made, 'customers' to e-mail me their request and delivery address to;
garlic 'at' g6ztz 'dot' org
Initially I would suggest limiting it to one pack each but if I don't get a full compliment of buyers I'll ask if anyone wants another pack.
Preferred payment will be by PalPal at the above address but if you don't use PayPal don't let that stop you.
If you need a special request of a larger number or require a special run because your planning a dinner party etc then also please e-mail me at the above address. You never get anything if you don't ask.

Can't use the email address and yes I did change the things that needed changing...
Interesting, it tested OK earlier???
For complete fairness I would like to use only one source of requestsI recok the first batch will be shortly after Easter. However you are first in the queue for the first real run.
I reckon on doing a run either the previous weekend and then posting the following Saturday.

I did a test run on Sunday to help gauge costs and I need some garlic for presents over Easter.
One of the minor problems I have encountered when vacuum packing the garlic is bleed out of the tasty smokey garlic oils out of the bulb into the vacuum pack.
I tried a gentle vacuum but that wasn't successful, I may have well just put them into a ziplock bag.
As a test I clingfilm wrapped each garlic bulb prior to a full vacuum pack. RESULT
Nice tight pack to exclude as much air as possible which will prolong the shelf life and no bleed out of the oils.
I'll see if I can go for a full commercial run so I can post out on the Satrurday 28th April.

Try experimenting with some herbs and maybe herb mixes like herbes de Provence. Onion also goes well with garlic and cheese. Hope your new venture is successful.
