What they do sell though is Oxygen Absorbers. These are put into sealed bags to remove the oxygen thus prolonging shelf life.

Get the feeling that a few of these would enable Rob 12 to finish his posts....or maybe he is in one and that's the problem...life is extinct....eeekeeek

Well my 'slab' of oxygen absorbers have arrived. I expect them to be single service salt sized portions but no they are much bigger than that, makes them even better value for money (100 for £7 all in)

All I have to do now, or when I first use one, is to split them in
more manageable pack sizes and vac pack them.

This is a very interesting subject - especially when things are costing more all the time! roll_eyes

So, Simon, what are you going to use your little oxygen absorber sachets for?

Val, I can answer that. Simon packs them in with three bulbs of his smoked garlic before vac-packing them. It's a real treat. I don't know how effective they are at prolonging the shelf life of his garlic but the theory is sound I guess.
