So I'm making soup with some "sausage" from my half-hog I picked up the other day. It's raining here so much I needed something to cheer me up. Right now, the soup smells so good that I'm sitting here salivating.

Hi Anna,

Hearty soup sounds ideal for your weather at the moment.  We are probably going for lighter food at the moment because we are having a very welcome warm period......mind you we already have warnings that it won't last through the weekend. I keep looking at my apricot tree which is in full bloom now & hoping like mad some fruit will set & not get ruined by late frosts or high winds.

I hope your bout of rain will stop soon.....we have April arriving very soon, a month which is well known for heavy showers here. My garden has only recently dried out after being a mudbath; it was so bad I had to put down a bale of straw so I didn't slip & injure was so dangerous!

Hope all you house renovations are nearly done so you can sit back & enjoy it at last.

wave  I made chicken stock overnight in the slow cooker, so today my kitchen smells  wonderful.  Soup is now on and I too am salivating at the thought of it.  smile

Mine was good yesterday with a piece of pork in the slow cooker.

Hattie can you not throw a blanket or garden fleece over the tree or at least a portion that faces the sun as that is the biggest problem is the sun warming the frosted bitseeek
