Unfortunately EP, they've heard me speaking a mix of Russian and Bulgarian with another neighbour who is helping me learn the language (although I think he just enjoys having someone to talk to in Russian).

I was thinking about using 'choop-ka-ta' but they have a bit of a reputation so don't want to upset them too much while I'm on my own.  So the policy now is  not to consider answering the  door once it gets dark and if they call before then I can see who it is, without them knowing.

Thing is, I was warned about them by about half my 'neighbours' but the other half talk to them.

Anyway back to EGGS  - I had a cheese omelette tonight with homelaid eggs and sirene cheese made by my own fair hand chef

When I want to get rid of an unwanted French person I speak in English and do not let on I speak a fair amount of French. They give up fairly quickly.
My chicken eggs are in short supply again so am using more duck eggs. Esse still off and took last of the cakes out of the freezer today. Need to do another baking session.

Nadine - that eggs and ham recipe sounds delicious and novel.

I must try it.

Tracey, I think "eff off" (the rich full version!) is understood the world over.  surprised
