Mutley, you are so right. A rapid rise for a newcomer.

It gives a whole new meaning to the term "fast women" Cheers Cheers

That tutor who wanted a descriptive adjective for our individual name (you may remember, a friend suggested "voluptuous") - my first thought had been "verbose" - maybe I should have said that instead ..... it sounds like you think it fits me better!

Perhaps I had better read more and write less .....

Not at all, Mutley, but what D said struck a chord somehow ....... and I realise that I love chatting (or nattering, as I mentioned earlier!) and I love people.

Just as the song says:

"People who need people, are the luckiest people in the world"

I count myself as very lucky!

So do we, BS. It's a hoot having you on board. Many thanks.

Sort of glad, though, that this site does not have an audio channel Whistle

Aha, so you're a bit frightened that I might have sung the song, too, eh ?

The song?

The mind boggles Surprised

But can you imagine a sound channel with you and mutley? Who could get a word in edgeways? Maybe Toffeeapple with her zapper (white noise) going zzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzz

The interruptions in a weird European accent would be Joanna, and the "allo, allo" would be Shelley and the French contingent.

Poor old S.O.L. and Kate would be like John Humphreys on R4, trying valiantly to be heard over the kafuffle.

The hysterical laughter in the background would be me, just after eating my uranium-enriched porridge with half a bottle of whisky poured over Pint Pint Wine Wine Champagne Champagne

European accent? Whatever gives you that idea, Northern through and through. Poor Latvians don't stand a chance they are too used to American accents. Doh Trying to Southernise my accent to teach them "love" "butter" and "duck" so they don't sound like they are from the hinterlands of some Northern city is really hard, I haven't got a strong Northern accent but my pronunciation combined with Latvian makes an interesting combination. Anyway the rest of the posts will have to wait, I must must must get on with preparing English lessonsCheersCheersCheersCheersCheers

Mutley, you do make me laugh!

Thanks for thinking of an oil burner for me Ok

It must be so frustrating to see your ideas developed by somebody else.
