It seems to be back to its version now, thank you.

I'll try that again!

what_the_heckIs it just me? Or is it TA with her mad tools ? The page has gone base over apex  (polite aren't I )  topics are on top of the heading . Bit like pulling a pint of Liffey water when the bubbles sink to the top pint . Perhaps it's Danny !medicine   wave

wave  It was closed down last night for an Update.  Now it seems to be elongated and the text smaller.  Also it does not seem to go directly to where you want to go, but to what seems to be part of your profile ( I think!!) first.  It is faster though!!!   Very strange.  I do like the new format but wish it would settle down.  Good on you Danny for trying to iron out all these snags.

I haven't touched it Seth!

The changes I note are as follows:

When replying, the font is enormous - when reading it is smaller than usual.

The colour button (for the font) has all but disappeared.

That is all, so far, I shall report back if I notice anything else.

I'll try that again!

wave Just realised what Roy meant.  The Cottage Smallholder picture and heading etc is at the bottom of the page.  doh So add that to my list too.  Is it not like that for you Toni?

Are you suggesting they get on with the washing up, Elsa? big_laugh

I wonder why the picture of the cottage is now at the bottom of the page - it seems wrong somehow ... confused

Does anyone else see a lot of text along the left hand side of the page after posting?

I see what you mean Danuta, I hadn't scrolled down that far until now.  Not sure about Val's lot of text at the left hand side, will check that out when I post this.

Ah, yes but it is very briefly visible.

I'll try that again!

Yes I get the same, but I like the wider format, and it does appear to be functioning at a faster pace, so well done Danny for that.

No Val...I'm just suggesting that it disappears from view....I never expect my guests to wash up as Danny found out....winkwink

Wish the font was bigger though when reading the posts but I do like the fact that you can see what you're writing now and don't have to go in to preview it...ok

This morning the forum is very wide, the information text is tiny and when you submit you get a screen of gobbledy goop before the confirmation you have posted. As you can tell I am not a technical person.

Its fine for me- I have a larger display screen so the text is fine for me- yes there is a brief apperance of stuff, but its like adverts you see on other sites, you learn to ignore them.

Aaargh aargh

There was a big rise in the number of spam comments on the blog. Averaging about 700/day. It was not possible to bulk delete them in case there was a valid user comment so I had to painstakingly scan each one in batches of 20.

So on Monday I bought a bit of software to block these automated spambots. It did not work at first and the kind author volunteered to fix some things that I had configured incorrectly, which were causing the new software to fail.

However, he went a little bit too far and there are some adjustments to be made, including the formatting of the forum. Only trouble is that I have forgotten exactly what I did two years ago when we changed the blog's theme and look.

This is beginning to feel like painting the Forth Bridge! eeek

Never knowingly underfed
