Sorry about that, people.
It was something that our hosts did and it took 36 hours to rectify. Maybe I misunderstood one of their communications but we had an argument with them before they attended to it.
They are good people but very busy after recent intensive DDOS attacks on their servers in several locations.

No problem, just about survived! Hopefully everyone will be back on here soon!

Danny the odd thing was and maybe still is, that some people could get onto the site but others could not.
Can I suggest that you set up a Facebook page to run alongside the forum so that when these things happen there is an obvious place to relocate or get information. At the moment those of us who know sort of stumble onto sooliz's or danutas facebook page.
Incidentally I have just had an email from sooliz to say she still cannot get onto the site.
They might be 'good people' who are doing the hosting but there seem to have been a few errors of late.
I have reached an age where my train of thought often leaves the station without me...
Chris, the issue was with new DNS nameservers - wot translates cottagesmallholder.com into our server IP address.
The last time iirc Danuta's ISP was one of the last to refresh their own nameservers with our new address and she could not access it for days.
I will contact Sue and Danuta and tell them how to clear the cache on their laptops, with the help of Google. That may help.

Chris, a facebook page does sound like a good idea. I noticed the site had gone on sunday morning (during me trying to post something) and it would be good to have a second channel of communication.
Visit my blog for food, drink, photography and hamsters.
I don't do face book either so if it happens again I will just have to chew my nails until it is back! Might get more done in the garden though!

Back too. Have to say it's been a pain in the rear . Yes, Facebook helped a lot, at least we weren't totally cut off from each other with no way of knowing what was going on (umm not that we did know much anyway!).
Danny, thanks for the info but I didn't do the 'clear dns cache' google thing. You were right, it's just too difficult for those of us who are not techie minded! I cook and do housework, crocheting and a bit of gardening - that's about it really.
