Yours truly - although I hate to admit it.
Sorry that the site has been down for the past day and a half or so.
As part of our new cost saving initiative, yours truly decided to find a new web hosting service for this site. Things have become cheaper as technology grows more powerful so I reckoned we should switch to a new provider.
All good so far.
There are loads of them out there. So I cancelled ours with 28 days notice.
Still all good.
Until Monday lunchtime, when Fiona mentioned that the site was down. The penny dropped like a bolt from heaven. Monday was day 28 after I cancelled, even though we were paid up until the end of the month. That shower simply deleted the site, data and everything, around midday. No recourse.
Cue desperate scrabbling around for a virtual server. Found this lot at a decent price, so hope it works as expected. Should be faster (more memory, faster network connection from server to t'interweb, and so on.)
Finally - anything you posted since Sat morning is lost.
Gone. Exterminated.
That was the time of our last saved database backup.
And the place will look a bit funny until I can spend more time on it at the weekend.
Sod it. Ships happen. Nobody died.
C'est la vie.

soooo glad it's back! I was missing it. But like you say, nobody died, and we all have these nasty moments from time to time 🙂
Worra bunch of smart ass..pects we have on here, eh?
Just warning you all - I am known to bear grudges!
Special thanks to Veronica for volunteering to help with the geeky side of things. I may call upon you, V, for some finessing that may be beyond me.
TA - I will investigate the missing editing toolbar now. Fingers crossed. We want you to get your blue rinse back asap
Never knowingly underfed
Oh yes, at this time of night. We have all bathed in the river Danny, no I'll try that one again; we have all bathed in the river, Danny. The river of knowledge that is¦
In blue just to make TA jealous !!!

I have reached an age where my train of thought often leaves the station without me...
Welcome back folks.
Many years ago at a large computer company we had a disc space problem and the application was going to fail. I was tasked with finding spare space by deleted unwanted files.
Well I found two VERY large files hogging a LOT of space. These files had the extension of .TMP Woohoo, two temporary files I can delete... which I promptly did... and the application promptly failed completely
Turns out they were critical TEMPLATE files
Luckily it didn't take too long to restore the files. Not as long as my credibility
