No problem, TA. I showed it the and that was enough to stop it in its tracks.
The Wheel Of Death is no more.
PC users may have to press Ctrl F5 to force a "hard browser refresh" that reloads all files from the site and overwrites the ones that are already stored on your computer (hold down the CTRL key while pressing F5)
[ the truth is I simply renamed the spinning wheel image so that the forum system cannot find it. Inelegant but effective.]

Patience, dear lady. Patience. That's a different issue.
(thank God I don't work for you )
Task #2 - the ever changing and dizzying width as described by your good self
it continues to open up to the full screen when typing a post or a reply then goes back to narrow (my favourite) after posting.
So am I the only one to have a very wide page on login, the same when replying to a post but then it shrinks after posting the reply?
Let's see if we can make it narrow all the time.

The links and buttons that do not work, like clicking on a member's name, is a tougher nut to crack.
There appears to be a conflict between the forum code and something else. It may be one of the 30 plugins (add-ons) that we have installed to add various bits of functionality.
I will try to uninstall each of the most likely suspects in turn to see if I can identify the root cause. Things may get a little hairy!

Hmm, I had an email to say that I have a PM here, that is an improvement - it doesn't usually happen even though it is set up to do so. So, I went to my in box where there was, indeed, a message. But, I can't open it, nor can I open any of the others already in my in-box... and that is before I have drunk my first cup of tea!
I'll try that again!
Toni, I sent you that PM. It just said "this is a test".
All these "not working" issues have the same root cause but it's a technical side of things that I don't know the first thing about (Javascript/Ajax script clashes, in case anybody technical stumbles across this thread and can help).
I will spend a little time on it but it may be a job for an expert.
