cheers girls, knitting a black slug at the mo, am I allowed to say black? thought I might have a go at making him in to a little vampire slug. knitting - or maybe crocket a couple of little fangs, will post pics when done.

Sorry I think you might have to use the word 'ethnic' and forget the fangs, and the likes........just don't display it anywhere near a window where a neighbour could report you....big_laughbig_laugh

Hi Terrier,

Just seen your knitted items, they're great!  Where do you find the time, you are on the go 24/7, I wish I had your skills and energy! You're amazing, you can also 'turn your hand to any thing'.

Brilliant work & the recipes, ah, well we won't mention what happened to all that 'Baileys Fudge' eeek

I think that the next batch I make I must give away ASAP, I was full of good intentions though, doh I did give small pieces away to friends/neighbours to try, you've guessed it, yes I managed to eat the rest myself......I'm disgusted with myself.....until I make it again! embarassed wave

Oh they're so easy Danuta

They only take a couple of hours to make up, just finished my second one tonight and am hoping to try and sell them on my stall on sunday.

I could teach you it at the summer meet up if we do it. Do you crochet, I can do simple crochet, and was fancying making something, but once I started reading the patterns, they seem complete gobbledegook.

wave  Janet I used to crochet.  In fact and I don't really like to admit this, but I taught a class of kids to crochet and we all produced some wonderful stuff.  But that was a long time ago.  However your idea is brilliant.  As for knitting, my mum and nana were great knitters and my children never wore any jumpers other than what my mum  knitted,  but me, I'm hopeless.  I never finish anything and have long since stopped trying.

That ethnic slug is a hoot, Janet. A kids' TV series could be built on that image alone.

If they could make the Earthworm Jum cartoon series, we could have Ettie, The Ethnic Slug surely? laugh

Cheers Danny

Took them with me to my table top sale today, just to see if there was any interest, they raised a few smiles with people, but no sales...not that dissapointed, the weather was grim and attendance was very poor. However our house will be overrun with knitted animals and cupcakes if I dont sell them, so will see how next event goes (26th March)

Ha ha - looked up Earthworm Jum (as I'd never heard of it!) and of course I was corrected - it should be Jim.

Danny, you're right though, some of these cartoon thingammyjigs can be made out of any 'creature', and just imagine, Janet wouldn't be able to keep up all the knitting if Ettie, the ethnic slug became famous!

I can't believe I've been so remiss in catching up with all this! Fantastic slugs and things Janet!

I love the idea of the vampire one!

Also, I was a huge fan of earthworm jim. I particularly like the almight goldfish Bob.

Sorry Guys, never heard of Eathwork Jim, or Goldfish Bob. Didn't even trigger anything when I did a google search. But if Ettie and her/his friends takes off, then I'll be getting you all to muck in with the knitting.
