I thought I had better add a new topic or I would be way out of line.
Toffeeapple would like some photos of our troll dance but first i should show a bit of the countryside. The area is very wild and the villagers have been very suspicious. When I see the nature and watch the Northern Lights, I can quite understand why they neede reassurance and explanations of the phenomena around them. Why, just the explanation that hunder was Thor throwing his hammer Mjölner is brilliant.
So we have lots of places which are reported as troll, giants, dwarfs, etc's abodes. About 7 miles away there is one on top of a ridge overlooking a huge lake. We have our local Nessie living in the lake but that is another story.
So, in the middle of June we went up to explore the terrain. THere was still ice in the clefts
What amazing & awe-inspiring countryside Renee. I love Scandinavia & in the past have been lucky enough to work in Norway, Sweden & Denmark, unfortunately it was mostly in the larger cities but I was lucky to be able to stay with a few friends in their holiday 'huts' at various times. Please keep showing us more photos of your surroundings.

Thanks for the encouragemant Hattie and Danny. It is difficult beginning writing on a new forum - not to be over enthuisiastic and not to fade away Oh and I love to play with Smileys.
After a good deal of exploring we decided that the best way to meet the troll was to build a nice big fire under these boulders, take up a bottle of whisky and sing old english folk songs.
Oh, do keep the photos coming......I just love them. It brings back so many wonderful memories of very happy times & experiences. The quality of light in your dawn photo (in another thread) reminds me of so many early mornings & the pure quality of the light.

Now the boulders are up on top of a ridge left at the end of the last Ice Age. If we look back from this ridge we can see the lake.
The main road to the North Cape goes alongside this lake and Åke has a primitive camping and caravan site by the lake shore. Last year he had just finished building a cateteria and whilst buiding he got the idea of a troll dance. Now you should see what a brilliant artisan our Åke is. Here is one of his grills.
And his kolbullar fire (Kolbullar are also another story but imagine toad in the hole)
Remember he has built all this himself. A serving table
